Excellent trivia question. Required coming up with a different way of thinking to have any shot at answering it. It was hard to come up with any systematic way to get the answer.
I can't believe I got the #2 receiving guy and the #2 passing guy. So close! Great questions!
I googled "quarterback tandems" and "runningback tandems" and got some great articles about the most famous RBBCs and QBBCs. Honestly, I don't think Earnest Givens or Kent Graham were on those lists though.
I never would have guessed that Ernet Givins never led his team in receiving yardage. That blows me away.
I'm also surprised to discover that Brett Perriman actually led the Lions in 1991 with 668 receiving yards. The 1991 Lions were 12-4 and made it to the NFC Championship game, yet they only passed for just over 3,000 yards.
I'm surprised Dan Marino's rushing yardage didn't make the list
What was his average - maybe a millimeter per carry?
10.4 inches per carry. He had 3,132 inches on 301 carries.
Does that take kneel downs into consideration?
I swear kneel downs and spikes should not count as rush attempts or pass attempts. Just label them what they are - spikes and kneel downs. There is no "attempt" to pass on a spike, it's a way of trading a down for a timeout. There is no "attempt" to run on a kneel down, it's the most insignificant play in the game. You see a kneel down, it's time to get ready to head for the parking lot.
Scott, I think that has to be the least of the worries about silly scoring practices in the NFL.
I always said Kent Graham was a legend. No one believed me.
