Tecmo Super Bowl AFC Championship Game: Jets at Colts
Courtesy of Matt Knobbe and the Tecmo Super Bowl Repository, here's your Tecmo Super Bowl AFC Championship Game, featuring the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Jets. The highlights:
(How did we do this? Matt and the other dedicated folks at the Knobbe.org message board have spent a lot of time over the years updating this classic Nintendo football game, including the introduction of a 32-team ROM a few seasons ago. Sounds complicated, but don't worry, it's easy for you to enjoy the fruits of their labor: just get yourself an NES emulator, download the 2009 version of Tecmo here, and play to your heart's content. And be sure to check back at Matt's site for roster updates and more Tecmo-related goodness all season long.)

Dig the music and I can totally see the game playing out such as this, minus Peyton Manning running with the football
Watching the Jets offense on Tecmo Bowl is about as painful as it is in real life.
What a disappointing game by the Sanchize! He looked like a rookie and played like one! What happened to the offensive line, they completely broke down, and he was running for his life! I think Rex Ryan should have called more running plays, the Colts D is very fast on this game, and maybe he should have benched Sanchize. It is hard to tell who had the worst Conference title game performance, Favre, Sanchez, or the Jets offensive line. I hope the real games on Sunday are much better than these 2 games. If tecmo is correct like it has been the last few years, this may hold as accurate winners in real life.
I think the only tecmo was wrong in the last 3 years predicting these games, was in 2008 Super Bowl when Pats beat Giants in Tecmo, but Giants won in real life.
My playoff simulations on Tecmo Super Bowl just finished for both title games, Colts defeat Jets 24-17 in an exciting affair as Reggie Wayne caught 7 passes for 357 yards and a touchdown, yes he burned Revis island all game! Revis did have one interception of Manning, however that was his only highlight! Jets were down 17-3 in 3rd qtr. but Jets tied game on 2 Thomas Jones tds in 2nd half, before Joseph Addai scored game winning td run in middle of 4th qtr. Sanchez threw 3 ints, and threw one last drive of game that sealed it. To the NFC title game, where in a result that many thought would happen in the real-life game, Vikes throughly outplay Saints in 38-20 win in New Orleans, as Favre throws for 2 Tds, 0 int. and Drew Brees throws for 383 yds 2tds, but 3int. one costly one in 4th qtr in end zone, as Vikes dominate the Saints weak rushing defense. Both Chester Taylor, who had way over 100 rushing yards, and 3 tds, and Adrian Peterson who had over 100 yds as well, as both could not be stopped. Vikes led 21-10 and Saints closed to 21-20 in 3rd qtr, but Favre's pinpoint passing and Taylor/Peterson's dual 100 yd games were too much to handle, as Vikes scored last 17 points in game in 2nd half to cruise to the win. No turnovers by the Vikes! It was the Saints who had the turnovers in my simulation. Vikes look like they can beat the Colts based on my results, if they do not turn ball over, I think they can do it, and limit Reggie Wayne unlike the Jets who gave up a record amount of recieving yards to him in AFC title game. I will post my results of Vikes-Colts Super Bowl the day before real Super Bowl.
