The only active players to play for both franchises are WR Courtney Roby and DE Jeff Charleston, former Colts who are both current members of the Saints.

When I think of "common persons" from two teams, two immediate images come to mind. One would be of the Mannings, as Archie Manning was the longtime QB for the Saints and his son Peyton Manning has manned the QB position for the past twelve years for the Colts. We will probably see more pictures of Archie Manning than of Jim Caldwell this week. The other image would be of Jim Mora, who coached the Saints from '86 to '96 and the Colts from '98 to '01. Whether he was talking about the playoffs, plain ol' diddly poo, or reminding us which fans were sick, sick people, he was always a great soundbite. I propose that Mora be invited to be invited to the coin toss before Super Bowl XLIV. I've got no doubt that Mora is fired up for this game and he thinks he should be the coach for one of these teams. The only other man to coach both franchises was Rick Venturi, who coached the Colts in 1991 and was the man who replaced Mora in New Orleans in mid-season in 1996.

Finally, here are the boxscores to every Saints-Colts game in history:

2007: Colts 41, Saints 10
2003: Colts 55, Saints 21
2001: Saints 34, Colts 20
1998: Saints 19, Colts 13
1995: Saints 17, Colts 14
1989: Saints 41, Colts 6
1986: Saints 17, Colts 14
1973: Colts 14, Saints 10
1969: Colts 30, Saints 10
1967: Colts 30, Saints 10
