Time Magazine has a cool slideshow in honor of the Big Game, featuring a photo of every Super Bowl stadium. And it even includes whatever the heck they're calling Super Bowl XLIV's venue this week.

So is this the peak of stadium-naming insanity? The stadium that was Landshark Stadium during the season is going to be Sun Life Stadium for the Super Bowl.
That Miami stadium has to hold the record for most names for one sports venue, right? How many has that been? They even made the distinction between "Dolphin Stadium" and "Dolphins Stadium" at one point... So now it's like Joe Robbie, Pro Player, Dolphin, Land Shark, Dolphins, and now Sun Life, all for a venue that only started in 1987.
They should just call it the Octagon.
A little trivia about the stadium. If Peyton Manning could lead his team to a win today, he would be the 1st QB to have won more than 1 championship game there. Currently, Jim Kelly has won 1 there (a conf. champ. game) and John Elway won 1 (a S.B. game). This could be no. 2 for Manning. Interestingly enough, no Dolphin QB has ever won a champ. game there in the 23 or so years that it has been open.
The broadcast guys should just call it the "Just Pick a Name and Stick to it For Crying Out Loud" Stadium just to drive the owners up the wall.
"Enter Your Trademark Here" Park.
Sorry about the bad info., but Steve Young and Joe Montana also won 1 S.B. at this stadium. So much for 2 for Manning. He gave it a good shot though. I still think he'll get his 2nd real soon. But this does make you realize just how hard it is to win multiple titles. I think it's a big plus on a QB's resume.
