Trivia Blitz Podcast
Listen if you like trivia. Although it's NFL related, this one also has a college slant to it.
Which reminds me: get your virtual tailgating supplies ready for a big sports-reference announcement on Wednesday morning.
Listen here, subscribe here if you know how, and read this if you don’t. It’s free, of course.

This should be fun. After dinner, I'll get out my pad and pen and play along.
Since I absolutely hate college football, I was expecting to have a tough time. I got 25, which I will bet is going to end up the lowest score in the comments.
Glad to see the return of the trivia blitzes, though!
That was fun. Scored a 43 - probably won't get a prize for that or even an attaboy. I also got only 11 of those WRs on the last Q. Jason, that was mighty impressive.
I scored 63 out of a possible 66 points. I needed the first clue for three of the players. They were numbers 10, 16 (an active player), and 19.
For the bonus, I had 24 without the clues (took me 20 minutes to run through some names in my head) and then 3 with clues after I unpaused the podcast.
I got stumped on the guy whose first name and last name starts with the same initial. It's amazing I missed him because he's one of the more recent players on the list.
I also thought about a player drafted by Dallas but who never actually played with them.
I'm not huge on the college football stuff, but I did enjoy the Dallas receiving stuff.
Listener from the UK here. Just started listening to the podcasts and absolutely love them. I'm a novice when it comes to the college game but still enjoy that angle as well.
Please keep up the good work!
It's really incredible how you manage to keep me entertained even though english is my second language and I know NOTHING about college football. I was on board all the way even though I only got a handfull correct answers.
The trivia things are, I'd say, my favorites, but I'll just second the cheering for those all X0'ies shows - they were great.
I thought the college-pro combo was a little bit too easy. Were you using AV to determine who was the "best" player to play for that combination of college and pro teams? You kind of started to explain how you determined this list, but then veered off.
The Dallas WR quiz was fun.
Only scored 31, though playing while trying to work at the same time crippled me a bit. How the heck I missed the Pittsburgh Panthers WR is beyond me, though. Only missed 7 completely, and of those at least 3 retired before I was born, and the other 3 retired when I was very young, so I can live with it.
I scored 28. Missed some that I should have gotten (like Leo Nomelleni!). Serious. Liked the Cowboy 1000 yard receiver list though would have been more interesting if we could have had a format to play along and guess early on. But lots of fun to say the least. Do the college to pro team trivia more--keeps my ancient neurons firing.
Love the Trivia podcasts, even though I am absolutely worthless when it comes to College Football (not being fom or in the US). I did get a couple of the more recent ones and did get the Pittsburgh Panthers WR on the first try. I absolutely loved the Dallas WRs part.
I think the podcasts, in general, are just right. This one was probably a bit easier for older people.
33 points
3 points - 7
2 points- 5
1 point- 2
0 points- 8
I am pretty knowledgeable, but am a bit younger (26). The only reason I completely missed those 8 was because they were before my time. I think though, that knowing colleges that players attend mostly comes with watching them play. Between the MNF player intros, commentators talking about a player's background, and the full draft coverage on ESPN, I am bombarded with reminders that Santana Moss is from "The U" or AJ Hawk is from "THE Ohio State University."
When I read back about older NFL players, unless they shined at a particular school, they don't seem to focus on where they played college ball.
That Cowboy receiver list was pretty interesting.
