Single-Game Performances Added to Leaders Index
NFL Leaders, Football Records, NFL Leaderboards - Pro-Football-Reference.com
A quick note to let everyone know that we've added single-game leaders to the leaderboard index, including performances from 1940-1959. This means you can see exactly where Tom Brady's Week 1 performance stands all-time:
These records are relatively complete for the 1940-2011 period -- although we only have full box scores for games since 1960, we also have data on all 300+ yard passing & 100+ yard rushing/receiving games going back to 1940. For more in-depth searches on post-1960 records, you should use the Play Index Game Finder tool, but this option is good for quickly looking up single-game records over a greater span of seasons.

Looks like sacks only go back to 2008

I was ready to laugh at JaMarcus Russell having two of the four worst games.
You're right, that does seem to be the case as far as per-game sack percentage.. I'm looking into that now (though really, I think you can feel free to laugh at JaMarcus Russell whenever you want).
Hey Mike, can you update the 4QC/GWD for weeks 2 and 3? Giants fan was asking me why Eli wasn't getting credit.
Passing interceptions in a game seems to be missing Jim Hardy's 8 picks in 1950.

There are some pre-1950 games on the list, though.
Looks like Tony Romo set the single-game fumble recovery record in last week's MNF game.
Makes sense given all those errant snaps, actually. I'm sure it's a milestone Romo will look back upon fondly.
There seems to be a mistake here.
Brady passed for 517 yards. It's just that all other games show gross passing yards while the NE-MIA game shows net passing yards.
You mentioned the data on all 300+ yard passing & 100+ yard rushing/receiving games, so I'll reraise a question that has been asked before - what happened to the "Big Games" tab on the players' pages?
Tom Brady is easily the best quarterback right now regardless of how the Patriots as a team will do. He is headed to the Hall of Fame for certain! I have a feeling that he is far from done! He still has a few elite seasons in him!
NFL Single Game Longest Kick Returns Leaders you have Ted Ginn listed with his 101 yard return, but not his 100 yard return in that same game.
Since he's the only one to have 2 100 yard returns in the same game it kind of sticks out.
Wonder how many more inaccuracies there are?
Still no response to my Tedd Ginn Jr. question....omission of his 100 yard KO return?
Any chance PFR will ever have play by play info for historical regular season games?
