This is a joke question, right?
no...next
No way, but still much respect. Had no idea he amassed 300+ homers. I could consider him for the Hall of Very Good maybe.
I'm sure Dave Littlefield still brags about signing Jeromy as a free agent. Nice work, Dave.
A good player in his prime, but never great. Not close to HOF material.
I really couldn't blame a Mets fan for hating this guy.
But for my Brewers he was a solid player in a very dark time.
who knows anymore. if he was clean and you removed all the dirty players from his era maybe his WAR doubles.
of course maybe he was dirty. who knows... and I don't know that many people care anymore about the hall of fame for players hitting home runs from 1992-2006.
I'd give him a merit badge for qualifying, but no consideration for entry.
He was mediocre at best in his two stints in Flushing, because he had warning track power at Shea. He was an ok fielder, but when I think HOF I don't think JB.
Dodger Stadium takes its toll on yet another hitter.
Does the Hall issue a Certificate of Participation?
There is no way he gets in... Oklahoma State University is the farthest he'll as far as the hall of fame... There's is no way you can put Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken Jr, Willie Mays, Eddie Murray in the same sentence are Jeromy Burnitz.
I'll always remember Burnitz as the guy that came around from first to score on the Brant Brown play (last play of this game). A classic Cubs loss, a classic Rod Beck appearance... and Burnitz was out there running hard from first base on a play where it never should have mattered.
There isn't really a question of Burnitz making the Hall of Fame, but HoF season is a fine time to remember what players did.
way to make to the ballot.
No chance. But I did appreciate his one year here in Chicago. Good guy, and enjoyed him playing the game here. Especially in comparison to the guy he replaced in RF...
