(last updated on February 10, 2026)

It’s fairly difficult to put together a winning season in the NFL. It’s extremely difficult to have sustained success over decades and decades. A handful of franchises have had sustained success for their entire history, winning more than 53 percent of their games going back to their founding in the 20th century.

Today, we’re going to look at the all-time best NFL teams to find out what team in the NFL has the best record and winning percentage. Here are the top 10 NFL Franchises with the highest winning percentages.

The team has had four seasons with at least 14 wins, including their Super Bowl-winning 1984 and 1989 seasons. Though current head coach Kyle Shanahan has led the team to four NFC Championship Games and two Super Bowls since 2019, the Lombardi Trophy has proven elusive so far for Shanahan’s crew.

Since their inception in 1933, the Steelers have 691 wins and 592 losses, giving them a .538 winning mark, good for ninth in NFL all-time winning percentage (tied with the 49ers). Part of their sustained success is their knack for finding and keeping excellent head coaches. The Steelers have had just three head coaches since 1969: Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin. All three have only been head coaches with the Steelers and have all won at least 140 games for the black and yellow.
